But what was the reason that led me to create my own little space on the internet? At the date that I’m writing this article, I’m 25 years old and I’ve been working as a Designer and Project Manager for the past 5 years for 3 different creative agencies, all of them very different from each other, and I was even the co-founder of one of them. I managed to work with big projects and renowned clients in Portugal and all when I was still just 20 years old.

This journey and what I have learned from it is not something that can be easily seen by looking at my portfolio or past work. I have discovered that the creative process and above all the mental work behind it, the adventures and stories that arise when managing clients, teams, and projects, and what is learned from this, is both one of the most important and fascinating things, as well as one of the most difficult to share. There needs to be a space to talk about this side, which is not always visible, and this website is my attempt to do so.

Last year I read something that resonated with me and was what prompted the creation of this website, it said:

“Make stuff you love and talk about stuff you love and you’ll attract people who love that kind of stuff. It’s that simple.” – Share Your Work by Austin Kleon.

This attraction is, in fact, undeniable and we can find it in various things in our daily lives and even in relationships with our friends and family, after all, we tend to always orbit closer to people with similar tastes and hobbies to ours, so why not do the same with your professional life? Why not share what’s behind it and not only find people interested in it but also willing to share theirs? As Austin inferred, by sharing our experience we are also creating value, for ourselves and others.

Therefore, this is my expectation for the future with this space: not just sharing work, but a little of the backstage to my professional life and attracting people interested in it. You can count on me to always be as transparent as possible, I want to create a dynamic space where the exchange of ideas and collaboration flourish. I hope to share useful tips, interesting books I’ve read, reflections on past projects, and, most of all, a community to fuel this ongoing learning.

I will leave that for the next ones. I want to share my journey with my first job, what it was like balancing it with the university, the first projects I had to manage, what it was like opening my agency, closing my first proposals, and going back to work for another… I feel like I have a lot to share and if it seems to be something that interests you, I hope you take something useful from here for you.

I will keep this website updated with content regarding my most interesting projects, the process behind them, and the stories and lessons I have been receiving.
